Carbon Tetrachloride

  • Carbon Tetrachloride is used as a solvent for fats, oils, and greases, in fire extinguishers (historical use), and as a refrigerant precursor. It is a colorless, non-flammable liquid with a sweet odor and high density and volatility. It should be stored in a well-ventilated area, used with appropriate ventilation and PPE, and avoided for inhalation and skin contact.
